Navajo pearls are one of the most iconic styles in Western jewelry, known for their
timeless look and versatility. At Dakota Sky Stone, we offer a wide selection of sterling
silver Navajo pearls, built on over 55 years of working directly with Native American
artists.
Each strand is made from genuine sterling silver and is hand-strung by Native American
artists. They can be worn alone for a classic look or layered to create bold, stacked
styles. Whether paired with turquoise pendants or worn on their own, Navajo pearls
remain a staple in any jewelry collection.
When people ask if Navajo pearls are “real,” they’re usually referring to how the beads
are made—either bench-made (handmade) or machine-formed.
We carry both.
Our standard strands are machine-formed sterling silver pearls that are Navajo strung.
This is very common—especially in smaller sizes—due to the precision required to
create those beads. They are still genuine sterling silver and offer a beautiful, more
accessible option for everyday wear.
We also carry bench-made Navajo pearls, individually handcrafted by Native
silversmiths. Each bead is shaped, soldered, and finished by hand, requiring
significantly more time and craftsmanship—reflected in the higher price point.
Both are real sterling silver Navajo pearls. The difference simply comes down to how
they’re made and the level of hand craftsmanship involved.
We offer both so you can choose what fits you best—whether that’s an easy, everyday
piece or something more one-of-a-kind.
