About Our Jewelry

Is your jewelry handmade?

Yes. Every piece is Native American made, South Dakota made, or US made. The majority of our jewelry is handcrafted by Navajo, Zuni, and Hopi artisans from the Southwest, and each piece carries the maker's stamp. Our Dakota Sky Stone Exclusive collection is hand-built in our own shop by Jim Tice.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo?

Yes, with one note. The photos you see are the exact piece you'll receive. The only exception is our $40 and Under collection. The setting is identical, but the stone may vary slightly because every piece of turquoise is one of a kind.

Is your turquoise authentic?

Always. We work directly with mines and artists, so we can trace every stone back to its source. No imitations, no stabilized stones passed off as natural.

What metal do you use? Is there nickel?

All Dakota Sky Stone jewelry is .925 Sterling Silver. No nickel, no plating that wears off.

How do I find my size?

Shipping & Processing

Where do orders ship from?

Every order ships from our headquarters in Wall, South Dakota.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 3 to 5 business days of placement. Once your package leaves us, USPS handles delivery time. We'll email you tracking the moment your label is printed.

What does shipping cost?

Choose the speed that works for you at checkout:

  • USPS First-Class — $4.99
  • USPS Priority — $9.99
  • USPS Priority Express (1 to 3 days) — $49.99

Do you ship internationally?

Not at the moment. We currently ship within the United States only.

My order hasn't arrived. What do I do?

Email info@dakotaskystone.com with your order number and we'll track it down. Once a package is in USPS hands, Dakota Sky Stone isn't liable for delays, loss, or damage, but we'll do everything we can to help you locate it.

Payment Options

What payment methods do you accept?

We process payments through PayPal, Venmo, and Sezzle.

  • Credit or debit card — select PayPal at checkout, then click "Pay with Debit or Credit Card" inside the PayPal window. No PayPal account required.
  • Venmo — select Venmo and scan the QR code with your phone.
  • Sezzle — split your order into four interest-free payments.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes, through Sezzle. Your order ships now, you pay in four installments, and there's no interest. Just select Sezzle at checkout to apply.

Can I use a gift card?

Yes. Dakota Sky Stone gift cards work in-store and online. Enter your code at checkout and the balance applies automatically.

Returns & Exchanges

What’s your return policy?

If your purchase isn’t a perfect fit, we’ll do our best to make it right.

Unworn pieces requested for return within 14 days of delivery may be eligible for a return. Approved returns will have a $5 flat-rate return shipping fee deducted from the refund amount. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Items must be returned in their original condition, unworn, and with the original receipt or order information. Some exclusions may apply.

To start a return, please use our self-serve return request option through your customer account before sending anything back. Once your request is submitted, our team will review it and provide next steps.

Items must be unworn, unused, and returned in their original packaging. Please include your name, contact information, and any details you have about the original order so our team can help process the return.

Can I exchange a piece for something else?

Yes. Same rules apply: unworn, postmarked within 7 days, with a 5% restocking fee on most items. Fill out the form first so we know what to expect.

Holiday orders get an extended return window. We'll post the exact dates each season.

Warranty & Repairs

Is my piece under warranty?

Yes. We stand behind every artist's silverwork. Repairs within the first 30 days are free. After 30 days, a small fee may apply to cover the artist's materials. If a piece can't be repaired, we'll replace it with something of equal value.

Warranty doesn't cover normal wear, accidental damage after purchase, loss, tarnish, inlay jewelry, or items from the $40 and Under collection. Tarnish is a natural reaction to oxygen, not a defect.

Can you repair a piece I bought from you?

Absolutely. Email info@dakotaskystone.com with photos and a description of the issue and we'll walk you through next steps. We only repair jewelry purchased from Dakota Sky Stone.

Jewelry Care

Why does silver tarnish?

All precious metals tarnish over time. Sterling Silver reacts to oxygen and moisture in the air. Store your jewelry in an airtight ziplock bag with a piece of carbon paper to slow it down significantly.

How do I take care of turquoise?

Turquoise is porous, which means it absorbs liquid. Water, lotion, perfume, household cleaners, and pool chemicals can soften the stone, change its color, or cause it to crack. Take your turquoise off before:

  • Showering or swimming
  • Applying lotion or perfume
  • Cleaning with household chemicals
  • Sleeping (if you're a heavy sleeper or sweat at night)

How do I clean my jewelry?

Clean the metal and the stone separately. Use a soft silver polishing cloth on the silver, then a soft damp cloth on the turquoise. Pat the stone dry — never soak it.
